Born 1967 in Milan, Italy, I divide my time between the countryside of Eastern Pennsylvania and Lake Como, Italy. Memories from my Italian childhood, the challenges of motherhood in my forties, and a never-ending sense of restlessness have been the most influential factors in my photographic style and aesthetic. I use photography to capture images that communicate the thoughts and feelings I have experienced. First and foremost, I make photographs for myself. With my images I try to evoke a sense of space and motion often enhanced by rich and dramatic use of monochromatic tones. My photography is driven by the self-absorption of the solitary image.
