Organically built, layer by layer, my paintings are graphic, linear, and architectural in nature. I paint in oil on torn paper adhered onto canvas. The result is a gritty neutral surface that is infused with history and energy. My subjects are cityscapes, rusty warehouses, run down motels, bridges, turn of the century towns and old row homes. These worn in buildings and streets have a story to tell, so I edit down the scene and reduce the human presence intentionally to let the viewer focus on that story.
