As an abstract painter, I have found my voice...a process that has been very different, and very exciting. I invent, pull from somewhere inside, T push beyond the boundaries of the painted surface. There's a constant conversation between shapes and colors, layers and line. My design background always gets into the mix, adding a geometric or architectural quality to my work. When I'm doing something more realistic, I find that my abstracts have contributed something that wasn't there before...more experimentation, more willingness to take risks. My latest love is making steel sculpture...as an interior designer, my thinking is always geometric and 3-D, so this was a natural!
