kirsten FISCHLER Kirsten Fischler, a native of West Chester, began her formal art training at the Chester County Art Association at the young age of 5. Her earliest influence was the work of John La Farge, the creator of the magnificent painted glass windows of the Church of the Holy Trinity where she attended. During a trip with her family to Europe she was further moved by the works of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt. While working toward her BFA at Rhode Island School of Design, she was selected to train in Rome as part of the European Honors Program. She went on to earn her MFA in painting from Pratt Institute, and was selected to participate in the prestigious Critic's Symposium. While working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, she discovered the masterpieces of Chinese landscape artists Yuanji, Kwo Zsi, and the Eight Eccentrics of Hang Chow. The influence of their art is alive in her current works. Kirsten received a favorable review in the November 4, 2007 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer by Victoria Donohue for her curatorial skills in an exhibit entitled Recycled Creativity: The Tipping point of Cultural Chaos, at the Arts Scene Gallery in West Chester, PA. Her work can be found in many private collections throughout Europe and the United States. She currently teaches in the Interior Design Certificate Program at both Moore College of Art and Design and Delaware College of Art and Design. Click here to visit the Kirsten Fischler website. Kirsten will be exhibiting at Jeff Schaller's Pink Cow Studio
