Brian Eppley is an oil painter working solely with the palette knife for application of paint. He paints entirely from direct observation, and his subject matter typically consists of indoor and outdoor still life study and outdoor plein air landscape work. He'll often use a thick paint application and free, loose knife work to aid in achieving a vibrancy and energy within the work and on the surface of the work.
